Judgement Day?
A friend of mine brought this to my attention today and I must say that it is terrifying. It's a round of jeopardy pitting the greatest players in the gane's history against an IBM super-computer that thinks and isn't connected to the internet for it's answers. Trebek will explain it some more.
I find it cool that the computer can actually be wrong, which means it's using the algorithms to reason it's answers. Between this and Japan's ultra life-like robots we could have a serious problem on our hands...

An 'Insight' From Mr. Bill O'Reilly
A little background about the video above, a while ago, Mr. O'Reilly attempted to use the changing tides as proof of God's existence. Believers of science and many other forms of heathens quickly pointed out to Bill that it is, in fact, the Moon that controls the flow of Earth's tides with it's gravitational pull as it orbits our planet. Ever the crusader, O'Reilly shot back with the above video clip asking the unanswerable question, "Where did the Moon come from then?"
If Bill would do some research, he'd know that this has been pretty much accounted for by science. Although that's only a theory, Bill's follow-up questions are absurd and don't need a scientific explanation, in fact, I'll answer some of those questions right now.
1. Mars has moons and both it and Venus share our Sun, Earth wasn't the only planet to get a moon because it's "God's favorite".
2. That amoeba crawled out of the water because it was probably the step it needed to take to get food, mate, escape death or to generally improve its situation. Just like why any animal ever has done anything.
3. There is no life on other planets for several reasons. The main reason being that the other planets are uninhibitedly hot/cold (some both) and do not contain the fundamental building blocks of life, such as; breathable air or water.
So there it is, I'm no scientist but that's the best I can lay it out for you. It seems to me that it isn't the people attempting to educate Bill that are desperate, but it's him that seems desperate when using the argument of "just 'cause" when it comes to giving a rebuttal to what could be an intelligent discussion.
I'm not questioning anyone's faith here and don't mean to seem condescending to anyone who has faith in a higher power, I just think that science and religion complement each other when it comes time to explain the big things in life but it doesn't help anyone's cause when a guy like Bill O'Reilly makes himself out to be a flag carrier for a group of people and continuously embarrasses the whole idea of it.
It's awesome that Bill actually becomes more like Colbert's satire of him every time he speaks up, he's making Stephen's job way too easy.

Mind Fuck
This video blows my mind and basically my entire perception of the world out my ass and all over my computer room walls. It took me about 2 or 3 viewings with hefty breaks in between to really grasp all the information in this video, I find it gets really intense after the 5th or 6th dimension explanation. To me, and I may be totally off on the subject, this means that time travel is very possible if someone can find a way to bend dimensions on themselves. Wow. Then I could go back in time and tell myself to invent Facebook.
Another thing that got me thinking was if there are beings (us) living in the 3rd dimension, there could also be beings on all dimensions that could see time all around them and parallel universes that we can't even comprehend.
